As a resident of Vienna, Austria, I have uncovered a wealth of interesting music that was banned as “degenerate” during the Third Reich, thanks to my affiliation with Vienna’s research center “Exil Arte”. Since my grandparents were also Holocaust survivors, the theme resounds very strongly with me.
My emphasis on presenting the stories of these composers during my recitals, as well as the compositional elements found in each work, increases an audience’s level of engagement. This has been a driving force in my overall musical activities as a concert pianist.
I’m often invited to perform in world-premiere recordings as well as give talks on radio. Most recently, I was a guest at Classical FM 96.3 in Toronto for commemorating Yom HaShoah.
