REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED
Well, we’ve finally made it, and now it’s time to return to conversations and celebrating artistic talent in person. We’ve packed this conference with a fantastic lineup of artists to last for a couple seasons, while Contact takes a break for 2023. We have also scheduled a range of opportunities to network, socialize and simply rekindle in-person relationships throughout each day, expanding well into the nights.
As we learned during the pandemic, the internet could still bring us together, and so we’ve designed a hybrid approach to this year’s event. One on One Conversations can occur both before, during and following the conference, where you will be able to set up your own meetings via the software we are using for registration this year. Artists and agents can set up a virtual booth representing their work or roster. We are also offering a couple of exciting workshop opportunities in the two weeks prior to the conference via Zoom®.
Showcases will take place in the home of one of our hosts, the historic Orillia Opera House, and showcasing artists this year include: DynamO Theatre, Gabrielle Goulet, Huu Bac Quintet, Jeffery Straker, Joyride, Junior Santos, Oktopus, Payadora Tango Ensemble, Productions Strada, Sammy Jackson, Shane Cook & the Woodchippers, The Elevator Collective, The Rowdymen, Travis Bernhardt, Trent Agecoutay, Trio Fibonacci, Walter EGO, Wesli, and Zeugma Dance.
St. Paul’s Church Theatre will host all of our pitches and also be a spot for gathering. Pitches this year include: Ballet Kelowna, Green Thumb Theatre, Kiran Ahluwalia, Wes Barker, Productions Onishka, Brendan McLeod, Sophie Lukacs, Carl Dixon, Blackwood, Donné Roberts, Dave Caroll, Raine Hamilton, Dara Schindelka, Countermeasure A Cappelia, Group Project, Les Tireux d’Roches, Tio Chorinho with Flavia Nascimento, CORPUS, Sultans of String, Barbra Lica, and Margie Gillis Dance Foundation.
This year’s Hospitality Suite is located in the Creative Nomad Studios, located just across the street from the opera house. Home to a range of visual artists, Creative Nomads has been coordinated for our purposes with opportunities for your one on one conversations on the mail floor, while socializing and/or networking can be enjoyed on the second floor throughout the whole of the event.
The main host hotel for this year’s conference is the Champlain Waterfront Hotel, just a short walk from most of our venues. We have also contracted a secondary hotel to support the event, the Best Western PLUS Mariposa Inn, which is also not very far from the core of the city and our venues. A shuttle service will be available for guests staying at the Best Western Mariposa, and we have also scheduled an e-car conference to serve as a backup, should the shuttle schedule not accommodate your needs.
We are excited to see you in Orillia in September. More details will be announced in the coming weeks.
Don’t miss Contact ONtour 2022.
